Arizona State University in Tempe leads AIRES on the CX-2 Lunar Terrain Vehicle path. NASA selected it in July 2025 to map minerals, water, ammonia, and carbon dioxide. Phil Christensen leads the team. ASU also flew LunaH-Map, a CubeSat mapping hydrogen near the lunar poles, on Artemis I.
