Bally Ribbon Mills (Bally, PA) is a family weaving mill that produces 3D orthogonally woven 3DMAT quartz preforms for Orion compression pads - the crew-module / service-module interface that also ablates as heat-shield TPS on re-entry. NASA named 3DMAT the 2023 Government Invention of the Year. It flew Artemis I and is adopted for later Orion.
