The Turkish Space Agency is the customer for AYAP-1 under the Lunar Research Program (AYAP), one of the National Space Program targets. Chair Yusuf Kıraç named a SpaceX agreement to loft the spacecraft to Earth orbit in the first half of 2027. Türkiye signed the Artemis Accords on 31 August 2026.
