Site-agnostic Energetic Lunar Ion and Neutron Environment
SELINE · PRISM lunar radiation measurements · NASA / Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory
SELINE measures primary galactic cosmic rays and their secondary particles at the lunar surface, and how that radiation interacts with the regolith.
Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory leads the payload under NASA PRISM. Drew Turner is principal investigator. NASA dates a CLPS delivery in 2028 or later and will assign the delivery task order later.
Schematic
The measurements support space weather preparation and safety for human exploration, and the study of how radiation processes lunar surface material.
