Cape natural gas line
SpaceX subsidiary Coastal Connect Services, LLC · Brevard County rocket fuel line
Coastal Connect Services, LLC, a SpaceX subsidiary, plans a 32.4 mile, 16 inch steel natural gas line in Brevard County from Florida Gas Transmission to SpaceX, and on 6 October 2026 the Florida PSC voted to approve the tariff in Docket No. 20260094-GU. The written order and a 21 day protest window still follow that vote. Coastal Connect Services would own the line and move customer owned gas, and SpaceX would take all of the planned capacity and liquefy the gas for rocket fuel. Commission staff were told that launch fuel now arrives by truck, hundreds of liquefied natural gas truckloads per launch. The interconnect is described as about 1.5 miles east of the Indian River, southwest of State Highway 528, with the exact route still being set from available rights of way. Coastal Connect Services projects August 2027 as the in service date, depending on engineering, rights of way, permits, and construction. The Commission record describes the gas as rocket fuel, and Reuters on 5 October 2026 identifies that path as methane for Starship.
